Color Psychology : Design Element of the Subway Logo

Task 2 : COLOR AFFECT

Color Psychology :- Design Element Of Subway Logo

Subway uses a similar method of representing the literal meaning of the brand name, using two arrows the first on the base of the S and the second on top of the  Y represent what we believe to be a sign giving direction like us would find in an actual subway, this is could also connote the directions of the trains moving between stations or even speedy preparation of food. The subway logo is effective in standing out and grabbing attention, it also seeks to important some links to nature of the product and brand through the arrows and the green outline. The Subway logo is one of the most popular and memorable food logos, with a very attractive, eye-catching and fresh look. The first letter “S” and the last letter “Y” feature arrows which depict the entrance and exit of a subway. The green color used in Subway logo produces a great effect and plays a great role in convincing consumers that the company is a healthy fast-food option as compared to KFC and McDonald’s.  (Design Element of the Subway Logo, 2012)

Font of Subway Logo

The Subway logo incorporates a hand-drawn typeface. The font used in Subway logo is in a Sans-Serif bold font with little line contrast. The whole words is on a slight tilt but does not appear to actually be italicized which may also be suggestion movement and fast preparation of food.
