What I Understand About Influence

What I understand about influence is it give influence to me for do something like my artwork, or I want to did. Furthermore, maybe my influence from someone such as artists, musicians, or designers. And I want to be like them can managed to achieve what they want. For me what I influence is from graphic designer designers, such as Craig Ward and Neville Brody, their artwork most to typography. And I like really their work in the produce a something related with typography. I like with thier idea to make something different with typographer, it not easy to create. And I want to be like them have a own idea for my artwork with typography. For the future I hope, I can achieve that.

Craig Ward created this image and accompanying video with Ian Wright in to promote the work of AIDS Charity (RED) for World AIDS Day on 2010. What Craig Ward do before be a typographer is he is British typographic and art director currently at several major advertising agencies before founding his studio word are pictures. Based in New York City and his studio is on the Brooklyn waterfront overlooking Manhattan. Craig Ward the author of the Amazon best selling book “Popular Lies About Graphic Design”, a contributor to several industry journals, former, ABC Young Gun, recipient of the Type Director Club’s Certificate of Typographic Excellence and a TEDx speaker. In addition him been fortunate enough to work with some amazing clients in the publishing, advertising, fashion and music fileds. Craig Ward uses a wide range of different techniques within his work combining typography, programming and graphic designing. He often creates pieces through up and coming events. The socio-cultural conditions of the time is, Craig Ward thoug a lot of his work is computer based he also likes to experiment with different materials to create abstract compositions. For example in the making of ‘Negative beats Positive’ they

threaded raffia through a grid. His compositions are effective because they all have a hidden

message which you will not originally think of until you read into a certain piece. By using typography as a metaphor for an in depth message the pieces of work are allowing viewers to debate about there own interpretations and opinions on the piece. He also uses a range of fonts and colours to create different effects to enhance the message behind the piece. Furthermore, As Craig is often creating new pieces of work relating to certain incidence with in the news or reflecting a social or political viewpoint . Other artist or designers have been working at the time is Alison Carmichael and Deanne Cheuk.  Alison does a lot advertisement work for businesses including, Clio, deluxe, and the national lottery. She uses a wide range of different materials such as painting, graphics, illustrator and web designs which gives a wide range of compositions. Deanne also lives in New York and is a illustrator and art director for leading magazines including Tokion magazine. Her direction of art is heavily influenced by her renowned illustrative typography.

                I would like do my own context is related with typography such as poster, crate my own typeface,or  what every is related with typography. I almost like doing in Ai, because easy to me for create the work. Before that, I have done my own quotes poster for typography subject, the first thing I did is find the best quotes and I should create the poster with my own ideas. How to I arrange the font and what typeface I should use. And I make in illustrator (Ai). Furthermore, I also make a font which created according to the shape of the object. This is about to crate an own font which using the shape of the object such as animal, plant or so on. For example, if it I had choose the object is cat, so the font are will be in the shape of cat and the typography will be the word is “cat”.  I most like this thing because it is my own design. I create the shape of skull for this, first I will sketch the image and I trace in Ai for get a guideline for the shape. After that, I put the color but I not use the color in Ai. I even use a plastic garbage to be a color because at plastic garbage have the own texture. I make a masking processes in Photoshop and then I put at the “skull”. That why I choose typography for my own context because typography is very interesting.
