Task 3 - Symbolic

For the task 3 is about Symbolic. Symbolic is representing things by means of symbol or of attributing symbolic meanings or signi cance,representation to objects, events, or relationships. In this task I should identifying the things that I can nd in Mantin and I need to engage with the enviroment through observation to symbolic meaning to representing that. I should create a symbol to present Mantin related with my research I have done. And my design of symbol must be creative and contemporary. What I get and understand from my  research about Mantin is, Mantin is an attraction for outsiders comes to doing business because in Mantin have a tin mines. It is so attractive to the British to do business. And in Mantin the majority of the population is Chinese (Hakka) from Ghizou, China. And because of that I create my symbol of Mantin like a magnet, I want show the attraction of Mantin. But if I just make a magnet also it not focus to symbolic
to Mantin, after that I combined the design of ancient building in Mantin which is there since 1920. I combined the magnet and design of acient building of Mantin together to get a symbol represent Mantin. Below is my progress and sketches of idea :-
