Idea Of Final Project (Designing Apps)

Idea Of Final Project (Designing apps)

For my final project I want to include with designing apps which apps ways is the easily way can attract more younger generation to know about the local coffee. It is because nowadays it all at technology life, whatever it is they will refer to social network to get the information or so on. And because of that I decide to create a designing apps for local coffee, from that, they (younger generation) can just install and see and read the information about the local coffee and the new style of local coffee. And I make some research about the coffee apps which already exist nowadays. But the most coffee apps nowadays is about international coffee. And because of that I want come out with the new design apps for local coffee. Below is some of my research about the coffee apps which already exist.

•           How Your iPhone Can Help You Find The Best Coffee

Once you taste a good cup of coffee, you will most certainly want to find it again. Remembering your own favorite coffee recipe is hard enough, but try remembering it for someone else, or a whole group of people; forget it. Fortunately, there are several apps that can help you manage your coffee addiction. Buying, browsing, or brewing, the following guide will help turn any iPad or iPhone. Starbucks (Free, iPhone) With the Starbucks app, you can make payments and manage your loyalty points directly from within the app or using the iOS Passbook. You can even keep track of you and your friends' favorite recipes. One shortcoming of the app is that it does not manage the Starbucks Treat Receipt promotion, you still have to get a paper receipt in order to return to the store for a discounted cold drink later that day. It also shares common features with the other coffee franchise buying apps like finding store locations, listing promotional offers, and sending gift cards to your friends. TimmyMe (Free, Universal) Tim Hortons' app focuses more on the social aspects of a coffee run than making purchases directly from your iPhone. With this app you can send an alert to your TimmyMe friends indicating that you are ready to head over to a local Tim Hortons to grab a cup of coffee. (GigaOm, 2013)

Coffee Guru ($1.99, iPhone), every local coffee house cannot have a dedicated app or electronic loyalty card to manage transactions, but some of these coffee houses have the best coffee to offer. Fortunately Coffee Guru has a database of over 7,000 independent coffee houses to choose from. Awarding social reviews with badges, you can submit and read reviews from coffee lovers that have actually sampled a cup from across the U.S., U.K., Canada and Ireland. (GigaOm, 2013)

Just a few years ago there was no such things as a coffee app. And truth be told, you don’t need an app to enjoy a good cup of coffee. But the right app can certainly help you find coffee, buy coffee, and learn to better appreciate coffee. And we’ll look at apps that cover each of those bases. (Usborne, 2015). Here are a few of them :-

·        Starbucks App : The Starbucks app enables you to find a local Starbucks, Shake to Pay at the till, digitally tip your barista, earn Stars and redeem rewards and in some cities it allows you to order your drink ahead of arriving at the store. (Usborne, 2015)

·        Dunkin’ Donuts App :The Dunkin’ Donuts app does much the same. One extra function it offers is that you can use the app to buy virtual DD Cards and send them to your friends as gifts. (Usborne, 2015)

·        Find Me Coffee App : Outside of the big chains, there are other apps that support independent coffee shops. Find Me Coffee is a pretty simple app that shows you where to find a coffee shop that is close to your location. And when you try new coffee shops you can write reviews. Those are all fairly obvious uses for coffee apps. But some people are using a little more imagination when it comes to adding value to a coffee lover’s day. (Usborne, 2015)

·        Angels’ Cup App : The Angels’ Cup App is a coffee tasting app. It helps you refine your “cupping” skills and really understand the varying taste profiles of different coffees. You can use the app for any coffees you like. But when you use it to record your taste impressions of one of the coffees Angels’ Cup sells, you also get to compare your tasting notes with the roast master who roasted the coffee. (Usborne, 2015)

·        The CUPS App : The CUPS app connects coffee drinkers with independent cafes. What makes it unique is that it’s a subscription service. You choose and pay for a monthly subscription and are then able to use your mobile phone to buy coffees from any of the participating coffee shops...at a discount of up to 40%. For now it’s available only in New York City. But the developers have plans to extend the service to other cities. (Usborne, 2015)

b)     My Coffee Card

The Android app will help you manage your own gift cards, help you find the best coffee shops, allow you to pay using your smartphone or tablet, and track the corresponding rewards with your every purchase. That means that you can literally leave your wallet or card at home for a nice cup of coffee by  the beach. My Coffee Card is basically an advanced card manager for Starbucks that will allow you to make mobile payments for that delicious cup of coffee. But what separates the app from the rest is its home screen widget that lets you see your current balance and reward stars with one touch. It’s also sensitive enough to inform you that you are running out of funds and will need to make a reloading pretty soon. My Coffee Card is fast, intuitive and free.  (Gene, 2012)
