Task 3 - Influence By The Artist And Theory

Task 3 ( Component 1 )

1.Introduction

I are required to experiment visual expression to communicate with the audience. And I should produce an art piece that influence through texture and transfer the feeling on canvas. I must apply the express the meaning into visual. My emotion is scary and my mind playing a few questions about the things. My feeling about the things is disgusting, dangerous, hurt, mystery, hard/rough, scary, sharp, softness, and sticky.

2.Concept And Idea
For task 3 I should to experiment visual expression to communicate with audience. Student must produce an art piece that influence through texture and transfer the feeling on canvas or something else. I will express the meaning into on 2 point perspective/ 3 point perspective. The artwork can be in 2D/3D. And this task we should work in group and we must divide to five group in each group have 2 or 3 person. In my group have 2 person, me and my friend. I come out with the in idea and concept for this task is “Though”. “Though” in my concept is mean what we think inside our mind and what we feel if we touch something. For the idea is we choose to make “Spiral” it mean to describe our feeling continuous, one direction, dizzy, thinking and reminds. And I plan to make in painting for this task. And I just use two color, it is black and red to show a mysterious and dangerous.

Influence
My influence for this task is a painting by the artist Sharon Cumming. She use a color black and red to describe a dangerous theme. That why, I use that color black and red in my painting to describe a same thing and my feel with a dangerous situation and dangerous things. The artist Sharon Cummings, M. A. earned her degree from the University of Tampa. She comes from a strong lineage of artists including Dorothy Denham who graduated from the prestigious Ringling Art School. Sharon Cummings specializes in Abstract, Modern, Landscapes and does floras by request. Sharon Cumming is also known to do nudes and portraits. (Biography Of Sharon Cummings)

Theory
The meaning of dangerous is exposure to a harmful eventuality, may be avoidable trough caution, forethought, and decisive action. Dangerous also clear and present danger and risk. Middle english (in the sense 'jurisdiction or power', specifically 'power to harm'): from Old French dangier, based on Latin dominus 'lord'. (copyright, 2014)
The primary reason why the color red is used for danger signals is that red light is scattered the least by air molecules. The effect of scattering is inversely related to the fourth power of the wavelength of a color. Therefore blue which has the least wavelength of all the visible radiations is scattered the most and red which has the highest wavelength of all the colors we can see is scattered the least. So red light is able to travel the longest distance through fog, rain, and the alike. Also, red is a color we inherently perceive as one that is associated with danger. I guess it has been genetically programmed as hot objects are red in color and also red is the color of blood. These reasons make danger signals the most effective when they are painted in red.             Black lacking hue and brightness ,absorbing light without reflecting any of the rays composing it. The color at one extreme end of the scale of grays, opposite to white. Produces a feeling of solidarity and formality. Black is a natural classic. Black also can bring the meaning of fear, mystery, dangerous, harmful and so on. (Melissa)
